MacinTek Online Computer Support featuring…
MacinTek provides Online, Remote Support for its customers using GoToAssist.com!
If you're having trouble with your Mac and you have access to the Internet, MacinTek can, only with your permission, access and control your computer from our office or on the road. With such access, we can fix many problems without the expense of an on-site service call.
This service is available for an annual subscription charge of $100. A credit card is required to secure the account. Once the account is set up, help is just a few clicks away. Once connected, online service is just $50 for the first 15 minutes (covers initial telephone consultation) and $25 per 15 minute block thereafter.
On-Site Computer Service & Support
Repair, Upgrades and Replacement
If a system requires service, MacinTek will perform the necessary tests and document the results. If it is determined that new parts are needed, MacinTek will explain the issue and provide you with an estimate for the costs of the replacement parts and quote the service charges for the installation.
Sometimes, if a computer is not performing as expected, it's not an issue of faulty equipment. Rather, it's likely that you've outgrown your original set up. MacinTek will listen to your issues and make appropriate recommendations.
If it is determined that your equipment is too obsolete to cost-effectively upgrade (in other words, if the service or upgrade of your older equipment costs nearly as much as a new machine), MacinTek will make the appropriate recommendations.
MacinTek will, if possible, recover the data from the old machine and transfer it to your new machine. We endeavor to make this transition as seamless as possible.
Maintenance Plans & Phone Support
As with any mechanical device, computers require maintenance. When regular service is not provided, computers will slow down and eventually crash... repeatedly.
For consumers, MacinTek recommends quarterly maintenance at $500 per year (up to eight hours). For businesses where the machines are used constantly, we recommend monthly service intervals at $1000 per year (up to 12 hours).
Phone Support is provided to all MacinTek clients. Support is $25
for the first 15 minutes. Beyond that, $5 will be invoiced for each
minimum block of five minutes.
Data Recovery & BackUp
A hard drive failure can be a most traumatic event for a company or an individual. Often, it results in lost data and, worse still, most people don't back up their most important files.
In many cases, MacinTek can recover most lost data from a drive. The cost for this service is $100 for the first ten gigabytes, then $2 per gigabyte. We charge for the amount of data, not the drive size. If the data is not recoverable, there is no charge.
Of course, this expense can be avoided by regularly backing up your critical data. MacinTek can recommend an appropriate back-up solution for you needs. Currently, Apple’s Time Machine backup to an external hard drive (FireWire, USB or Thunderbolt) is the best local solution.
Online backups are great and safe but they’re slow (initially) and are a drain on Internet bandwidth.
